Eric.P's coin math for October 9, 2009

I saw some people put what you did that day but I wasn't here so I won't put what you guys did.

Homework

1. Would the jar look the same if the coins inside were Canadian?
No because Canadian coins look different from American coins.

2. How full is the jar?
The jar is about 3/4 full.

When you comment put a happy face on it. (:

Part 2

How much of the jar is filled with Canadian coins?

I used a ratio table to find out how much of the jar would 370 Canadian coins would take up. I found out that 370 coins would take up about 35% of the jar.

Could you fill the jar with $100 worth of American coins or with $100 worth of Canadian coins?why?

I think you might be able to fill up the jar with American coins because you only need 1040 coins to fill it all the way up and you can fill up lots of it with pennies. I also think you can fill it up with Canadian coins too because of the pennies.

Good job eric , but maybe you shouldve answered your first question : (Would the jar look the same if the coins inside were Canadian?)like maybe your answer should be like the jar would look like... or the height of the coins would look different because...
