2 Minutes To Make A Difference Final Reflection

In our first and final cut we changed a lot of things in it. We added voice and we changed the music around the climax to make it more interesting.

We were unsuccessful on finding an expert because we thought that our expert would answer back and we did not ask any other expert.

My great success in this 2 minutes to make a difference was learning how to make a video. This was the first video I made.

During the movie project it frustrated me that the windows live movie maker can not have a narration and music at the same time.

The 2 minutes to make a difference project is important to grade 8 students because with this project we learn about how we can help change the world and what is happening to the world

I will make a difference in the future by taking the bus when I have free time to spare

Part 2
3/4x7/8=
You can multiply the denominator x denominator and numerator x numerator to get the answer to this question.if you multiply them you would be able to get 21/32

11/5x2/5=

First you have to make the mixed number into an improper fraction. To do this you have to multiply 1 and 5 and you would get 5 and add the top number to get 6 and you will get 6/5.After this you can multiply them like normal.

23/4x23/4
To multiply 2 mixed numbers you have to find the improper fraction of both mixed numbers and multiply them together.

Michael's Percent Scribepost for Feb. 1 2010

1st question:

1st way:35x1.11=38.85 I multiplied it by 1.11 because 35 divided by 1 is 100% and 0.11 would be 11%.

2nd way
:

After you find the pst amount and the gst amount you just add the taxes to the price answer= 38.85

=================================

2nd question:

1st way:
35/5=7 (20%) so it is a 7$ discount 35-7
=28 (new 100%)
28x1.11= 31.08

2nd way:

Michael R. Pay It Forward

Part 1:

Pay it forward is something like doing something good for someone and then they pass it on to someone else and the world gets better.It is something that inspires people to do good things for others.It is an act of good deed.

Part 2:
What did you do?
My Pay it forward was helping young people learn about their fate so that when they are having troubles they know what to do.This would also make them do better choices in life because they know what their god would have done.

Why did you do it?
I chose this activity because I see a lot of people not knowing about their fate and it is because they did not learn about it when they were little and now they dont believe it at all.

When did you do it?
I did this last saturday.
Part 3:
How did your act of kindness go?
My act of kindness really went well we learned that christmas was when jesus was born.The kids were really fun because they pretty much knew what to do.In the end I hardly got to do anything but I still helped them learn by reading to them.

How did it feel and how did they react?
It felt great because I finally know how it is to read to little kids and work with them it was really fun.They reacted normally because it was a class and I was just helping out.

Did you ask them to pay it forward?
no I didnt ask them to pay it forward but I pretty much knew that they would "pay it forward" and understand the meaning of it.

Part 4
Why is "pay it forward" important?
Because we cant hide the truth that this is a bad generation but if we change and get more and more people to change we can change not unly us but we can change the whole world.
(sorry I dont have much pictures because it is a class.)

Michael's Rate Growing Post

Part 1
Ratio:A ratio compares 2 same quantities
Rate:A rate compares 2 quantities measured in different units

Ratio and Rate is different because ratio compares 2 same quantities while rate compares 2 quantities in different units. Example black:blue is ratio Km:Hr is rate

A)4t:day
B)19.3:hour
C)6:hour
They are the same speed because they both run the same km per minute.

How many pennies can you find per minute.

Part 2

A)

0.5x2.5=1.25 lb ground beef
1x2.5= 2.5 medium onion diced
1x2.5=2.5 selery finely sliced
1x2.5=2.5 clove garlic
14x2.5=35 0z can of tomatoes chopped
0.5x2.5=1.25 can of tomato paste
1x2.5=2.5 tsp parsley
1.5x2.5=3.75 tsp basil
1x2.5=2.5 tsp Oregano
1x2.5=2.5 tsp sugar
0.5x2.5=1.25 tspworchestershire sauce
0.5x2.5= 1.25tsp seasoning salt
1x2.5=2.5 bay leaf

B)
0.5/4=0.125 lb ground beef
1/4= 0.25 medium onion diced
1/4=0.25 selery finely sliced
1/4= 0.25 clove garlic
14/4=3.5 0z can of tomatoes chopped
0.5/4=0.125 can of tomato paste
1/4=0.25 tsp parsley
1.5/4=3.75 tsp basil
1/4=0.25 tsp Oregano
1/4=0.25 tsp sugar
0.5/4=1.25 tspworchestershire sauce

Types Of Green:Total Crayons (3:12)
Types Of Blue:Total Crayons

Part To Part
Types Of Blue:Type Of Green(3:3)
Other Crayons:Type of Blue(6:3)
Type of Green:Other Crayons(3:6)

How to do equivalent ratio:
to do equivalent fractions whatever u do at left side u do at the right side.

example:
3:3
x3 x3 = Equivalent fraction
9:9

Questions:
What is a Part to Part to Part ratio?
What is an equivalent ratio for 5:8?
Is 7/10 an equivalent ratio of 231:320?

Part 2

In my test I got a few mistakes with the percentage. Like if he faces 27 shots and he is able to stop 85%.How many goals would likely be scored on him.I put 3 but it was supposed to be something else. Ill remember how to do this by finding out how.

If Superman wins 93% of his fights and he fights 327 times how many is likely to be that he won?

Give an equivalent ratio of 765:1071 in lowest terms.

Michael's Scribepost for Question 15

a) Write a ratio in lowest terms to
compare the amounts of the three
cheeses. State the order of the cheeses.

Romano:Mozzarela:Cottage (2:6:5)

b) What amounts of Romano and cottage
cheese do you need to make lasagna that
contains 900 g of mozzarella cheese?
Hint: Use equivalent ratios to help you.

You would need 300 g of Romano cheese
and 750 g of Cottage cheese if you
wanted to make lasagna that would contain
900 g of Mozzarella cheese

Michael's Coin Jar

We made all sorts of questions in class at friday and our homework was to answer 2 of them that is 1 purple and 1 red or blue.

What is the total of the jar? 100 american dollars.

Would the jar weigh the same if it was canadian dollars? No because we have different kinds of coins.

Thanks for reading

Part 2:

1:How much of the jar would be filled if it was canadian money? You can fit about 1000 coins on the jar.So 370 is about 1/3 of the jar.

2:Could you fill the jar with 100 american dollars and 100 canadian dollars? You can not fill both of them because the jar can only fit about 1000 coins without overflowing.American dollars have 780 and Canadian dollars have 370. 780+370=1150.So Jar would overflow a little

Michael's BOB Post

3 Things I know about graphing

1. I know that Graphing could be used for a lot of things like showing data but some graphs are different and should be used in different ways.Like how Line graph should be used for displaying data over time, Bar graph for showing which one is bigger and etc.

2. Most graphs need intervals. It doesnt matter what the intervals are but it would be better if it is good with the data.
example of a good graph:
Example of a bad graph:

3.Graphs could be misrepresented by distorting the scale, distorting the visual, or distorting the size of bars.By Distorting the scale you can skip numbers.By distorting visuals you can make something look good and same as distorting the size of bars

Example of distorted scale:
Example of distorted visual:

Example of distorted size of bars:

What I know now that will improve my test:
I now know that just organising it by ascending order isnt good enough for something like this. For something like rolling the dices and how many times you got the sum you should do a tally of the number and the sum

The three pictures about misrepresented graphs is not mine thanks to whoever made them. Woohoo!! Extra marks.

Michael's Four 4s Post

I can't really explain but I think that 4⁄4 and 4÷4 is the same because they are just the same way of saying 4 divided by 4 but they have different signs.

example 4/4 = 1 and 4÷4 =1

Sorry about my post being short and thanks for the picture jarret.
