RAQUEL'S SCRIBEPOST FOR PROBABILITY

TODAY, during math class we did probability. Now, in the beginning we had to tell Mr.Harbeck what we already know about probability. These are the kind of things that we said..
-chance
-dice

-cards
-coins
-percent
-ratios
-probability trees.

AFTER, we did that we talked about the types of probability. Such as,

Theoretical Probability

-what the math says SHOULD happen.

TP= favourable outcome over total possible outcome.
exp.
A COIN P(h) = head over head/tails.
= one half
So, There is a 50% probability by that the flip will be a head.

Experimental Probability
EP= favourable outcome over number of events
exp.
So, what we did was we flipped a coin about 11 times and we put those things in a ratio type form which looked like this..

P(h)= 7 over 12
= 0.583
= 58.3%
The experimental probability of a head was 58.3%

*to achieve a # closer to theoretical probability, you need to do more experiments.
AFTER, we did that we started talking about Probability Trees,
A COIN= H,T 2 Outcomes
A DICE= 1,2,3,4,5,6 6 Outcomes

P(t , >) = 3 over 12
= 25%
There is a 25% probability that there will be...
THE END!
So, that's pretty much it for today's math class ( May 10, 2010 )
For homework we have to do the table and the homework book ( page 124, 125, 126. )
Thaanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it! Remember to COMMENT. ;)

2 Minutes To Make A Difference Final Reflection

In our first and final cut we changed a lot of things in it. We added voice and we changed the music around the climax to make it more interesting.

We were unsuccessful on finding an expert because we thought that our expert would answer back and we did not ask any other expert.

My great success in this 2 minutes to make a difference was learning how to make a video. This was the first video I made.

During the movie project it frustrated me that the windows live movie maker can not have a narration and music at the same time.

The 2 minutes to make a difference project is important to grade 8 students because with this project we learn about how we can help change the world and what is happening to the world

I will make a difference in the future by taking the bus when I have free time to spare

Krystal`s Reflection

1.

2.The comments left behind on our first draft were very helpful. They were realizing stuff that neither Raquel, Kisha and I, haven`t even seen. They helped us make our video better by telling us about how we should take more pictures out and talk more about the main subject, they talked about how our pictures were very affective but how we need to make our main subject more obvious, and to fix our grammer errors.

3.We emailed many people to become the expert for our video. Finally we got an expert and we emailed her questions that we wanted to know. She was very helpful and gave us a lot to use in our video.

4.We emailed many people. We found this man who was willing to be our expert but he needed to go back to the UK first before we could interview him because he was in Taiwan. Unfortunetly, the volcanic ash delayed his flight and we weren`t able to use him as our expert. Luckily we found one and we were glad we did.

6.My greatest success was that I learned a lot from this project. I honestly want to do a lot more volenteering and donating because of what we learned for our project. It was really eye-opening for me. I will definitly be greatful for what I have and try to donate more.

7.The biggest frustration was probably having to find an expert. It was something that we desperately needed and it was really hard to find one. Especially when you can`t really have a quick conversation through emails. It took time and thank goodness we got one.

8.I think it`s important because at our age, it seems like it`s the right time to open their eyes and see how much different we all our in our own ways. Individuality. We feel like we`re alone with stuff like poverty, or abuse, ect. After we learned this , it does change. Probably not a lot, but it`s still something.

9.I will definity be donating more and volenteering. Trying to get the word out there more would be fantastic. If we could get more people to realize these issues in the world, we could stop poverty. In the summer I`m planning to volenteer at Silom and donate to the Salvation Army.

Richard's 2 mins reflection

2. The comments that they made was helpful because we needed peoples advises to make our video better. And we made it better by changing our spelling mistakes and putting our voice in.

3.n/a

4.n/a

5.We tried talking to that person, but then he didn't reply on us.

6.My great success of my video is finishing the whole work and finishing our video. So it was fun.

7. When we were starting the video we didn't know how to start and we argue that for like15 mins and then we came up with the plan. So that really frustrated me a lot.

8.2 mins to make a difference is important to grade 8 because we see how we can people from other countries and we can can also provide supplies for them.

9.I'm going to try to donate food for people that can't grow crops, donate some clothing, and donate other supplies use.

Hannah's 2 minutes to make a difference final reflection

Topic: Environmental Activism

First version of the movie

Final version of the movie

About the changes made:

Since the first version was pretty rusty, we have made a huge amount of changes into the final cut. We added some background music as suggested. We also added more pictures for the movie to match the time limit. We also put some text into the movie. And of course, recorded our voices. But we made some changes to the script. Before even starting the final cut, we already knew we had a lot of improvisations to make. But the comments and feedback helped us in many ways. First of all, they gave us suggestions. Secondly, basing on their feedback, we are able to tell what our movie is like in their point of view. And lastly, they not only told us what we need to change but also what they liked about it. Which gave us some confidence.

About the expert:

Our expert was found by Razel Abraham through online. Her name is Amanda and she's the community education and outreach coordinator of Manitoba Eco-Network. She suggested that the topic we chose is very broad. Therefore, it would be a great idea to focus on one or two subjects only. For example, climate change/global warming, tar sands, air pollution, etc. She also pointed out that even a small organism can have a great effect to the whole environment. That is because everything in the ecosystem is all connected with each other. Another thing she taught us is that global climate change is a natural occurrence. Because the earth goes through warmer and cooler periods.

What was my greatest success in this project?
Honestly, for me, it was just getting things done on time and actually coming up with a decent movie. We started working on the movie late and by the end, we were cramming. And we didn't have enough time left. But my group still came through. And we ended up with a movie that was better than I expected. Thankfully we created these google documents that organized all the information we have collected.

What frustrated me during the movie project?

Well there were a few things that frustrated me. First of all, some of the programs we used weren't working quite right. For example, Windows Movie Maker kept freezing and shutting down. And at those times, the work I've done wasn't saved so I technically had to work my way from the beginning all over again. Also, what frustrated me was coming up with the whole idea itself. I mean, I know what my goal is. It is to created a two and a half minute long movie about my topic and will somehow make a difference and make people want to change their ways. But coming up with HOW to reach that goal was the hard part. I came through by starting with the basics. I just gathered up some researched information, put some pictures together, and added music to somehow give it some 'dramatic' feel.

Why is the 2 minutes to make a difference project important to grade 8 students?
In our age, our lives mainly revolve on a few things. Everyday is basically a routine. We wake up, go to school, and go back to bed. And our priorities are limited too. But this movie project gave us a greater understanding of the real world and the real problems and are happening day after day.
How will I make a difference in the future? Now that I have a better understanding, it will be much easier for me to be able to make a difference. Maybe do some volunteer work over the summer, recycle and reused whatever is possible, all sorts of stuff.

2. The students comments were really helpful. They pointed out some mistakes or we need something like voice's on our video or maybe a expert. We put voice's on our final cut and made the text inside the pictures instead of being on the other slides.

3. n/a ( expert didn't reply to our e-mail)

4. n/a

5. We were unsuccesful to get an expert because we tried to e-mail like 2 expert on climate change but they didn't reply on any of our e-mails.

6. Probably my great success on 2 minutes is we finish our video. I will take the skills of making a movie.

7. The thing the frustrated me was the windows movie maker we use, we can't put our voice's on it without taking out the music.

8. 2 minutes to make a difference is important to us Grade 8 students because we see what happening to the world and try and help somehow.

9. I will try and recycle or help on a charity, or like the movie Pay it Forward when i kid helps 3 person and those person help 3 more person and so on.

JerickR's 2 minutes to make a difference Final Reflection

In our video project first version we had a few errors . Errors like spelling , pictures , and information . So what we did was we read the comments and we changed things like spelling . We forgot to add an "s" to the end of some words , so we changed that . We also added a few things that we didn't have in the First Version such as a Bibliography , Credits and Voice. I would like to thank the people for commenting on our videos , which made our video much better .

Unfortunately we could not get an expert to answer our questions for this project . I talked to my sister who works in an Animal Testing Building and she said that finding an expert to tell us some information would be very difficult . We didn't give up , we looked on the Internet searching for groups in animal testing also in anti - animal testing . We found a few and emailed them but they said that the information is confidential . The way we got our information was from a binder full of printed information given by my sister Jennifer Reyes .

Our greatest success in our project was the pictures . We found a lot of pictures from the Internet . I learned a few things during this project , but the thing I will take along with me is using movie maker . I was taught how to use it from my group members . I'm not perfect at it , I'm just learning and want to learn in the future .

Their were a few things that frustrated me during the project . One , the project was given during basketball season with all the practices so my group barely got together . There was also another thing that frustrated me , when ever we did get together most of the time we were off task , so each group member stepped up and got us all on track . The strategy we used to succeed was to get everyone on task and give everyone an important job in the group , so no one did less or more , we all did the same amount of work.

2 Minutes To Make A Difference is important to grade 8s because in our age generation we don't know or care about the problems going on in the world such as Pollution , or Racism . So what 2 minutes to make a difference did was opened our eyes to see the problems that we once didn't care about . Also , we were told how we can make a difference in those problems .

In the future i will think twice of throwing garbage on the floor , and other things . I will actually care and acknowledge for things like Racism , Pollution , Animal Abuse etc.

First draft

Final Cut

- The changes we made for version 2 were we recorded our voice again because the audio was very bad. We changed the font. We added more information. We also added why we needed to make a difference because in our first draft we didn't include that.

- We were searching the internet for companies or programs that are about povert, Kim found one and she contacted them and asked them questions. She gave us a lot of the answers that we could not find out ourselves. Such as:

  • Poverty prevents people from living to their fullest potential.
  • Many children who grow up in poverty have difficulty doing well at school or drop out of school.
  • This often means that they aren’t able to use all of the skills and talents that they have to contribute to our society.
- Our greatest success I guess was re-doing the video and recording before the due date. I think the skills I will take on later in the future is to use the time I have.

- I think the hardest part of the video was staying on task. Because we always got distracted. Another thing that fustrated me was recording because there was a small time frame to include so much narration.

- I think it's important to the grade 8's because we are at that we only think of ourselves. And by doing this we are thinking of others, not us. By this we are awaring people of these events that are happening.

- In the future what I would try to do to help is to donate money, food, & other things.

Kisha's 2 Minutes to Make a Difference Final Reflection

1. Google Documents Slide Show

Version 1

Final Cut

2. The students comments were very helpful. They pointed out mistakes that we never noticed and fixed them right away. We've tooken out some pictures, added the interviewer, fixed some grammar, added how we could make a difference, and put the credits at the end of the video.

3. We looked up on google, and searched for poverty experts. We emailed all the ones we could find, and barely any of them answered in time, thats why we added it in the second video. Fortunately she replied back to our email a day before the final cut was due, and we got to get lots of information. We asked her how we could help, she said we could donate to charities, raise awareness and tell others about poverty, volunteer at local poverty organizations and we could ask our mom and dad to only buy fair trade food products. We learned from our expert that there are many different kind of ways we could make a difference.

6. I think that our greastest success in our project is the information that we put into our video. We got lots of important points, and we've learned from it that poverty is a serious situation. We used Windows Movie Maker to make our project, I think that i'll use that in the future because its very easy to use, and its really fun.

7.What frustrated me the was that we couldn't find an expert in time. When the first video was due, I wasn't sure if we could get it into our project. I've been emailing people for weeks and weeks, but everyone was so busy, and most of them didn't reply at all. I thought we would never find an expert. Then i asked Mr.Harbeck if we could put it into our second video, he said he would just add on the marks after he saw the second video. I wasn't sure if we'd even find one, but at the last second someone emailed us back and replied with lots of information.

8. I think that this project is very important to us because we need to learn how and why we should make a difference. If everyone participated in making all these changes to the issues in the world, they would all be fixed. I think we did this project to raise awareness about all the issues, and show how we should make a difference.

9. When my closet is getting too full, I will take the time to sort out which ones I want, don't fit, or some that I don't wear. Then I will keep the ones that I usually wear and put the others I don't need into a big bag. I could also do this with some other objects I don't need. After that, all i'll have to do is call someone to pick it up, or drive to a local charity organization and give away all the things I don't need to the poor. That way i'm helping others, rather than throwing useful stuff into the garbage.

5. I was unsuccesful of finding an expert because I sort of ran out of time because you see I had to redo mine all over again because someone accidentally deleted my google doc and I only had 3 days to finish it because the first version is due soon.

6. The greatest success I achieve in this project is that in my speech, most of the information I said are from my own knowledge.

7. What frustrated me during the movie making progress is that I've got so little time to do my google doc and the first version but I didnt give up because I dont want to get low grades..

8. This project is important to us grade8ers because it helps us to be a better person.

9. I will make a difference in the future by saving electricity, not littering, riding my bike, walking to school and many more.

Video Version 1

Final Cut

Please reflect and talk about the changes you made between the first and final cut of your movie. Were the student comments helpful in making your final cut better?
- Several changes has happened from version 1 to the final cut. We had to add the voice in the background so the video doesn't look boring. I actually had to lower the volume of the background music so people could actually hear our voices. We have deleted several repeated pictures in headings, and also added the credits and bibliography. The student comments were helpful in a big way. During the making of the final cut, we actually looked at the comments on our version 1 and took the time to make the changes.

How did you find your expert? List 3 important points your expert added to your movie. What did you learn from your expert?
- We have found several experts through family members and the internet. But the problem is that, the experts that we had connection with, didn't want to give us information on animal testing. The reason was because the information is confidential.
We have 1 important point we have added that our experts have told us is..
- The information is confidential and can't be shared.
We couldn't get more information except for that 1 important heading from each expert we contacted.

What was your greatest success in the 2 minutes project. What skills will you take away with you and use in the future?
- Our greatest success in the 2 minutes project is actually finishing the projects. Lots of hard work has been put in the project and i believe it turned out pretty great.
- The skills i would take away with me and use in the future would be my video editing. I've just started using a new program on video program and i think it turned out well in the final cut.

What frustrated you during the movie making process? What strategies did you use to become successful?
- What frustrated me during the movie making process was actually rendering the video. Lots of problems happened for example, when i play the video. The strategies i have used to become successful we're just focusing on finishing and putting lots of effort into the project.

Why is the 2 Minutes project important to Grade 8 Students?
- I think the 2 minutes project is important to grade 8 students is because we need to get in touch with the community and the changes its been having.

How will you make a difference in the future?
- How will I make a difference in the future? Nobody actually knows. There are a lot of problems happening around us and we all need to pitch in to help out.

  • Please reflect and talk about the changes you made between the first and final cut of your movie. Were the student comments helpful in making your final cut better?
-The changes we made for version 2 is that we recorded our voices again to make our voices understandable compared to the first version we made. We also added more information and reasons why the viewers should care about poverty, and we made the expert's email to us larger for the viewers to see the image clearly. The comments were definitely helpful for us because without their comments, we wouldn't honestly know what was missing in the video we made.

How did you find your expert? List 3 important points your expert added to your movie. What did you learn from your expert?
-We found our expert by searching in the internet then I found a company where they help children who are living in poverty. The expert that we contacted actually helped us a lot by answering our questions about poverty in Africa, we added the information she gave us such as:
    • Poverty prevents people from living to their fullest potential.
    • Many children who grow up in poverty have difficulty doing well at school or drop out of school.
    • This often means that they aren’t able to use all of the skills and talents that they have to contribute to our society.

    • Please reflect and talk about the changes you made between the first and final cut of your movie. Were the student comments helpful in making your final cut better?
There are many changes we did to our version 1 movie project. One is by changing the font color to something that's more visible and making it a larger size so that the reader will not have a hard time reading the message being projected from the computer screen. Another thing is that we changed the motion to make it slower, the difference that this makes is that the reader will not run out of time to read the text. Last, when it came to the interviewing part we lowered down the background music so that when Robin Bryan gives his statement to our question he will he heard loud and clear, and to help with that we even added the words he says, this will help the reader understand what his trying to say. Yes, the comments we received from our fellow students we're very helpful. This is because they were able to see the bad qualities of our first draft that we didn't see and they helped us make a better difference to our project. So thank you for all the comments :)

    • How did you find your expert? List 3 important points your expert added to your movie. What did you learn from your expert?
We found our expert by doing some research. We found him on Google , this was done by typing keywords such as " environmental activists in Winnipeg " and fortunately he was there. We were lucky because throughout our research we found that he works at a building nearby called the "Wilderness Committee". So what we did was we contacted him and asked if we were allowed to drop by with adult supervision for interview and he didn't decline us. There were many things he told us that were very understandable. He said that as youths there aren't major things that we can do to make a difference, but there are a lot of minor things, things such as recycling, using recycled things, and picking up waste just lying around. Another thing was that since we are still in the childhood years he's not suggesting that we focus too much on how we can make the environment a lot better although it would be nice. This is because he said that right now education is more important to focus on right now, and that later on when we get older we can decide wether we will help make a difference and how without expecting recognition. But out of all the things he said this particular phrase is the one that hit me the most and it is "We can't look at our environment as a finite resource like it's going to last forever, if we don't accept to protect it". There are many things i've learned and most of them i've already mentioned, they are do what we can do for now, but don't forget about education.

    • What was your greatest success in the 2 minutes project. What skills will you take away with you and use in the future?
I think my greatest success was being able to take action after understanding and learning about the damages in the environment. The skills that i would use and take away with me in the future i would say would be, to ask questions about things i don't know because this will add on to my knowledge, another thing is that don't be afraid to take action if i know that this will do me better, and if necessary it will do others better too.

    • What frustrated you during the movie making process? What strategies did you use to become successful?
Since there wasn't really anything that frustrated me I would just go with finding highly effective images that will draw the audience attention. The strategy that i began to use and helped me with success is by searching with the most important keywords.

    • Why is the 2 Minutes project important to Grade 8 Students?
The 2 Minutes To Make A Difference project is important to grade 8 students in many ways. One is that it gives us the ability to learn/ see / and understand other things in the world going on that needs MORE attention such as " POVERTY, ANIMAL CRUELTY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM" other than ourselves. Another thing is that as a youth we can help spread the words "2 Minutes To Make A Difference" and explain to young children like us what it means. This particular action I believe is more powerful than adults trying to explain to children because having young minds and young thoughts it will give other children and youths better understanding to what things needs attention. Last but most importantly it enables and encourages us to make a difference and take action if we can do it,
all together ....making a never ending chain of ...............
    Y O U T H S

    M A K I N G

    A D I F F E R E N C E :)

    • How will you make a difference in the future?
I will make a difference by taking action only if they will do anyone or anything better, and remembering that i can't depend on others to start but i can only depend on myself.

RAQUEL'S 2 MINUTES TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE REFLECTION

    1.

    2. Yes, the students comments on our video was very helpful. We changed some punctuations and some spelling errors.

3 & 4. We looked at our websites on our google docs and we emailed them or search up an expert on poverty and emailed them too. This is what an expert on extreme poverty told us..
    - The most effective way is to donate to local charities.
    - We could volunteer to work at a local organization that works against poverty.
-We could raise the awareness by telling others about poverty, and we could ask our mom or dad to buy fair trade products, so people could get paid a fair wage for their work.

    6. My greatest success on making the movie is that we all worked together and we completed the assignment. I would use the ideas from the video and make a difference in the future.

    7. The frustrating part of the movie making is that we had to find an expert and also, the music. Because, we had to make the cut out parts of the song and place it to a part where we want it to go. For the expert all we did was email a lot of experts and for the music there was none, we just tried to put it in the right spot.

    8. I think this project is important to us, because if we didn't do this project we would know how to make a difference in the world. There are many types of issues going on in the world and without trying to make a difference the world would be a bad place.

    9. Well, there are many ways we can help make a difference in Poverty. Such as donating to local charities or we can work at a place that helps stop poverty like the Solam Mission. There's many more ! We can all make a change if we were willing to make one.

    2. The comments of the students were very helpful in making my final cut better.
I changed some of the font and image color so it would show up better and some spelling changes.

    4. I found my expert by using Google and searching anti-racists and found a Canadian anti-racist council. Unfortunately he couldn't respond before I made my final cut.

    6. My greatest success would probably be making everything by my self, with some help.
I will probably using the movie making skills I have acquired and the the ways to make a difference in the future.

    7. The most frustrating thing was cutting the sound clip to just the right spot, I didn't really use a strategy I just kept trying until I got it right.

    8. Honestly I would think its important because of how much it influences our grade, because honestly not many people besides us would see the video and unless someone really important sees them it wouldn't really be able to make a big difference.

    9. I will try and make a difference by not making stereo-typical comments and stop people who do. Also I will try and make people aware of how it would feel if they were in others places and how much they would suffer though not by being racist to them.

    VERSION 1

    VERSION 2

Please relect and talk about the changes you made between the first and final cut of your movie. Were the student comments helpful in making your final cut better?

For version 1 we made the text really small and white, and we also made the transitions to fast and you couldnt read it . So for version 2 we changed the color white to yellow and we made the text larger. We also changed the the transitions a little slower. The comments were really helpful they gave us advice of how to change the font color, size and to make the transitions slower.

How did you find your expert? List 3 important points your expert added to your movie. What did you learn from your expert?

We went onto google and searched up environmental activist in Winnipeg. Then a guy named Robin Bryan popped up and we clicked it so its showed us a video of him getting an environment award and how he made a difference. So we searched where he worked and he works at the Manitoba Wilderness committee. He told us that we have the largest forest in Manitoba right now, and he told us that we have to pay a little more for the things we buy because its hard to dispose of them. For example , plastic bags at grocery store you have to pay for them. We learned that us youths should not take the world for granted, because the world isnt going to be around forever if we dont protect it.

What was your greatest success in the 2 minutes project. What skills will you take away with you and use in the future?

Our greatest success was that we finished the movie on time and we got our information and put it onto the video. The skills I would take away with me in the future is that to always help the environment even if the things you do to help is not big.

What frustrated you during the movie making process? What strategies did you use to become successful?

The thing that frustrated me was the program that we used to make the video. We used windows movie maker. I wasnt really good at using the program because it was confusing and I didnt know what to press. The strategies that helped us become successful is to use our time very wisely, concentrated on our work and to understand why were doing this project and how to make a difference to make a our video better.

Why is the 2 Minutes project important to Grade 8 Students?

I think this project is important to us because we dont know whats really happening in the real world, and we need to start making a difference now because if we dont start who will? We only focus on the things we want to see , not the things we NEED to see. Us grade 8s are now realizing the real disasters the world is going through.

How will you make a difference in the future?

I can help earth in many ways, we can all help by using recyclable things, recycle, start cleaning up the environment. There are so many ways to help. We can help the earth anytime not just on earth day, anytime is fine the purpose of it is just to make a difference and understand that the world needs OUR help.

    Version 1

    Version 2 Final Cut

    2) The changes we made between Version 1 and Version 2 is we made the font better, we added the things we took for granted between here and Africa, made the voices clearer and blended it with the music, we also made the interview with an expert pictures bigger and clearer and version 2 is longer than version 1.
The students were very helpful. They found mistakes that we didn't see and added suggestions on how we can make version 2 better.

    3) It was Kim who found an expert when she was looking through a website. I learned a lot of things from the expert. like...
    - Many Africans had experienced having low self-esteem or discrimination.
    - People who live in poverty can not live to their fullest potential.
    - How we can reduce poverty.
The expert gave us lots of ideas on what poverty has done and what we could do to reduce the growth of poverty.

    5) Our greatest success in our 2 Minutes would probably be having it finished.. because we spent a lot of time getting distracted. The skills i would want to use in the future is movie editing.

    7) I was frustrated about my partners getting distracted and beginning to talk off-topic. We just had to keep focused on finishing the project on time.

    8) 2 Minutes to Make a Difference is important for us grade 8s because we're starting to have awareness about the things happening around the world.

    9) I will donate money in stores that helps poverty and trying not to be wasteful about the things I have.

Eric.P's 2 Minutes to Make a Difference Final Reflection

Part 1: Changes you made to your video
One big change we made was that voice was added into our video. Also some of the text in the video was changed either to make it sound better or to fix some grammar. Some of the pictures were moved, changed, or deleted from the video. And, at the end of the video the credits were added.

    Were the students comments helpful?

The comments were very helpful we used them to help edit the final copy of the video.

Part 2: If you did not find an expert tell us why you were unsuccessful
We could not find an expert because animal testing experts would not allow an interview with them. They said that they could not tell us was that the information was confidential. That meant we couldn't get the info.

    Part 3:
What was your greatest success in the 2 minutes project
My greatest success was that we got everything in time of the deadline. Because we were behind a bit halfway through the process.

What skills will you take away with you and use in the future?

    Our version 1 video

Our final copy of the video

    3. We found the expert online. She told us many things like that can help us in our project.

    4. We found the expert online

    6. I think we did well in putting the picture the same time as we are talking.

    7. I think the most stressful thing we did is that we cant find the recording thing at movie maker, we took mostly like 10 minutes to find it.

    8. So we know what is going on around us. So we can make a difference.

    9. I will try not to litter and pick up garbage and by recycling.

Caitlin. T's 2 Minutes to Make a Difference Final Reflection

    Version One

    Version Two/Final Cut

    2. Please reflect and talk about the changes you made between the first and final cut of your movie. Were the student comments helpful in making your final cut better?

What we did to make our video better was that we added background music, also talked louder. We also added more pictures, the credits at the end, and some information from a environmentalist. We added many things to our first draft from many of people's comment's.

    3. How did you find your expert? List 3 important points your expert added to your movie. What did you learn from your expert?

Razel found an expert on some website.

    - we added information like conserving gas.

    -recycling

    -Conserve water and energy.

What I leaned was that global warming is not all our fault it became a natural occurrence which we probably can't fix.

    4. How did you find your expert?

Well I found my expert on a website, but it wasn't a really good response that person told me. I searched up David Suzuki because he's a Canadian environmentalist but all I ended up was with a foundation.( I guess there's no contact to him anymore he's like 72 year's old..). We ended up using what Razel's response was since it was much better.

    6. What was your greatest success in the 2 minutes project. What skills will you take away with you and use in the future?

The greatest success in my project was that we were able to actually finish on time and fix every problem there was to solve. I think everything there is to do to help earth that we were told are the skills I would always use from now on to help with earth because once we make a mistake on earth who knows what would happen.

    7. What frustrated you during the movie making process? What strategies did you use to become successful?

What frustrated me was that I was being so negative that we ended up having a kind of bad version one video. All we did was went to Hannah's place to fix up a bit of thing's and Then Kaitlin and Hannah did the voices in the end.

    8. Why is the 2 Minutes project important to Grade 8 Students?

The 2 Minutes project is not only important to us, 8 graders, but important for the world to know that the environment needs our help to use the 3 R's; Reduce, Re-use, Recycle. Our world will be non-existence if we do not do this. For example, our water and the people who pollute our water or the trees; the more we use the less chance we will have any in the future. We have to work together to keep our world alive and more healthier place to live so we can have more generations to come, life of not only us, but every non-living/living thing.

    9. How will you make a difference in the future?

Well, in the future Also I would like to ask for there to be a law for only families to have only 1 or 2 children in the family to reduce over population. Also maybe I would like it if people could actually think and care for the earth because like what my video said "we'll only live once and so will the earth." The earth is almost 75% full with all cities and luxury. We should stop for once and maybe even have a No Luxury week to save power and electricity. And Always remeber the 3 R's reduce, reuse, recycle.
